Embedded Software Engineer – New Product Bring-Up, Kernel & Drivers

Location: Lund, Sweden or Baar, Switzerland | On-site | Security Clearance Required

At Asperiq, we build secure communication systems designed to protect sensitive data in critical environments. We're now looking for an embedded software engineer to join our cross-functional team and help bring a brand-new product to life — from the very first board bring-up through kernel and driver development.

You'll work at the intersection of hardware and software, close to silicon, close to the metal, and close to the people designing the boards you'll be booting. If you enjoy solving hard problems with a curious and methodical mindset, this is your opportunity to shape a product from day one.

What you'll be doing

You'll join our core development team and work on the foundations of a brand-new product. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading bring-up of new hardware platforms — getting boards booting and stable from scratch.

• Developing and maintaining Linux kernel components and device drivers for custom hardware.

• Writing and debugging embedded C close to the hardware, including bootloaders, low-level drivers, and board support.

• Working closely with hardware engineers to debug and resolve hardware/software integration issues.

• Building and maintaining embedded Linux environments (Yocto or similar).

• Participating in agile team rituals like stand-ups and planning meetings, and being actively involved in technical decision-making.

• Collaborating across disciplines — from hardware engineers to backend developers — to deliver robust and secure products.

What we're looking for

Required experience:

• Solid experience with embedded C and low-level systems programming.

• Hands-on experience with Linux kernel and device driver development.

• Experience with hardware bring-up — booting new boards and bringing them to a stable state.

Additional skills we appreciate:

• Experience with Go (Golang).

• Confidence working with Yocto or other embedded Linux build systems.

• Familiarity with bootloaders (U-Boot or similar).

• Understanding of networking principles and system-level architecture.

• Experience with hardware debugging tools (JTAG, oscilloscope, logic analyzer).
